Grade 12 Oxford or Cambridge applicants
Your UCAS application is due to me by Monday, 7 September, immediately after the holiday. Remember to check requirements carefully, as well as additional forms required by the universities and requests for interviews. You must see me in school on Tuesday, 8 September to ensure everything is completed and with me. We will not be able to get your application sent on time if you do not meet this deadline – the university deadline to request interviews in Singapore is 20 September.
Make sure your tutor is aware that your reference must be in immediately after the holidays as well.

Saint Mary’s College, California, USA
Saint Mary's College of California is a Lasallian 4-year liberal arts college in the San Francisco Bay Area. See www.stmarys-ca.edu/international for information and entry requirements. SMC also offers Lasallian Scholarships to students who graduate from a Lasalle school as well as other merit-based scholarships to international students. Representatives from Saint Mary’s College will be at the AEO Tour on 12 September (see below) but have also offered to meet SJII students who are interested in applying independently of the tour. International College of Hotel Management, Australia
ICHM offers a hotel management degree programme recognized by the Swiss Hotel Association. They offer a number of scholarships to Australian and New Zealand citizens, as well as international students. A minimum of 26 points in the IB Diploma are necessary to apply. See www.ichm.edu.au
ICHM have sent copies of the 2010 prospectus – please take one from my office if you are interested.

Grade 11 Introduction to University Applications
All Grade 11 students and parents are invited to a presentation on the university systems in different countries on Thursday, 17 September, from 6 to 6.45 pm. This will be followed by the Challenge Week presentations on the same evening. Please let your parents know!

Medical Exposure Programmes
A reminder that registration forms for the Jakarta medical exposure programme in December are due to Sandesh or Na by Monday, 7 September (immediately after the holidays). Email Sandesh at sunsambhi@gmail.com or Na at dabbywuyen81092@hotmail.com for more information or a copy of the registration form.
If you are considering medical studies it is critical that you participate in this or similar exposure programmes. All hospitals in Singapore also offer exposure programmes – contact them directly for details.

Students and parents are invited to an information session hosted by Columbia University, Georgetown University, Northwestern University, and Princeton University. Representatives will provide an overview of their programs, admission procedures, and financial aid, allowing time for questions at the end. Study USA – The AEO Tour
Saturday, 12 September, 12 – 4 pm, Pacific Ballroom, Pan Pacific Hotel, Marina Square
Twenty universities and community colleges will be represented at the fair. Many of these are smaller institutions, some with more accessible entry requirements and a wide range of majors. Also represented are specialized art and design institutions. Many offer scholarships for international students. See the poster and the flyer on the noticeboard.
