Grade 11 SAT Reminder
The deadline to register for the December SAT test is Friday, 30 October, and the preparation course offered by Testtakers at SJII will start on Saturday, 31 October. Registration forms for the course are available at Reception and forms should be sent directly to Testtakers. It is not too late to register for the course but students who are interested should send their forms in this week.


Grade 12 Saint Joseph’s University, USA
A reminder that applications are due in mid- November for students applying for a scholarship or to participate in the essay competition at SJU. More information is available www.sju.edu/admissions under the “International Students” section.

Study in Australia Open Days 2009
Saturday- Sunday, 24- 25 October, 11am – 5 pm, Orchard Hotel Grand Ballroom

More than 40 Australian universities will be represented at this fair. There is also a series of seminars over the two days on studying in Australia - the schedule will be published in the Straits Times on Monday, 19 October. See the poster on the notice board or go to www.singapore.idp.com for more details and a list of participating universities.
• Grade 11 students thinking about studying in Australia are strongly recommended to attend this fair – it is one of the biggest. Parents are welcome to attend.
• Grade 12 students who are planning to apply to universities that will be at the fair can apply at the fair itself – take your latest assessments and GCSE O-Level certificates (original and photocopies). Many universities will waive the application fee if you apply at the fair and application forms will be available at the fair.

The University of Waterloo (www.uwaterloo.ca) is one of Canada’s top universities. They are also the people involved in the making of the Blackberry handphones! Students interested in applying to Waterloo should try to attend this presentation. Parents are also invited.


UK University Fair
Tuesday, 10 November, 2pm – 7.30 pm, 101 Cecil Street #18-02, Tong Eng Building

OAL is organizing a UK University Fair with representatives from Loughborough University, University of Leeds, University of Liverpool, University of Southampton as well as representatives from some foundation courses.
