Please note that next week I will be in on Wednesday, 25 November only.
In the holidays I will be in on Tuesdays and Thursdays for part of the day to work with Grade 12 students on their applications. Grade 12 students who need to see me should email me first to confirm a date and time.
Grade 11 students: remember to make sure the school has copies of your Grade 9/10 reports and exam results. If you need to get them from your previous school please do so this holiday. It is a good idea to scan these for yourself as well, so you always have a copy.

Tilburg University (www.tilburguniversity.nl) offers international Bachelor programmes in Economics, Econometrics and Operations Research, International Business Administration, and Liberal Arts. The curriculum is taught entirely in English and they have a strong focus on global issues. They require IB diploma with Math Standard or Higher and they select students based on their international background and education, and motivation.
Students interested in studying in Europe are strongly encouraged to attend this talk.

Keith Todd, Director of Admissions at Rice University, will speak about the academic programmes, student life, and admissions process at Rice. Rice is highly selective and is consistently ranked amongst the top universities in the US. They offer a wide range of majors, including political science and economics. LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY VISIT TODAY CANCELLED
Apologies from Caroline Wade at Loughborough but she is ill and has had to cancel her trip so will not be here to present today. She will reschedule to early next year if possible. Students are welcome to get in touch with her by email – see me if you would like to do so.

Have you read about the new Singapore University of Technology and Design (SU)?
SU is expected to have its first intake of 500 undergraduate students in 2011. It will offer degree programmes in Architecture and Sustainable Design, Engineering and Product Design, Engineering Systems and System Design, Information Engineering and Design. Fran Halliwell, Senior International Officer, will speak about the programmes at Manchester. All students interested in studying in the UK should try to attend this talk.

DigiPen Singapore is running an introductory workshop for students interested in learning about video game programming and the video game production process. The workshop will help participants develop and enhance their problem solving and analytical skills, as well as discover the roles of computer programming, mathematics, physics, arts and the integration of these academic topics in game engineering and development. The workshop runs from 30 November to 11 December, 10 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, and costs S$775.

The Swiss School of Tourism, located in Chur, in the Swiss state of Graubünden (which is known as the Holiday Corner of Switzerland”) offers a 4 year Bachelors degree in a traditional-modern Swiss hotel with state-of-the-art infrastructure complemented by well experienced faculty and accredited by prestigious universities worldwide.
